One of the most value pieces of information someone could have given me when we started to build our cabin would have been a step by step guide with a sample time line. By reading books we figured out how to tackle the job. However, it would have been great if the steps had been clearly laid out for us.

We built a frame (stick built) cabin. I thought this was reasonably challenging for two people past mid-life with no prior building experience.

I don't think I would have been able to handle building a log cabin, even though my husband had taken a week long log building class several years ago. I think they've done a great job of explaining the steps they went through to build their log cabin. They even show you how they joined interior walls with the exterior log walls.
