Cabin Plumbing and Rainwater Flushing Systems

Cabin plumbing is notorious for giving cabin dwellers a headache! If you're not on the grid, you are pretty much out of luck. Tired of your outdated outhouse? For the rustic cabin owner, that may not be as good as it gets. Rainwater flushing systems are becoming easier to understand and less expensive. While not for everybody, in many regions rainwater flushing systems can mean indoor plumbing (at least a toilet!) for those cabin dwellers who have given up some modern luxuries.

Even cabin dwellers with modern plumbing might want to consider rainwater flushing systems. Better for the environment than traditional flushing systems, rainwater flushing systems store rainwater and use this water to flush the toilet. When the toilet flushes, it no longer takes a gallon and a half, or more, of local water stores.

Rainwater is clean enough for toilet flushing, and storing it up can also be beneficial for your garden, if you've got one. Rainwater gardens are increasing in popularity, and they, too, offer something for nothing. Storing rainwater is much better for the environment than using local water stores whether for your toilet or for your garden.

Rainwater storage and flushing systems may be worth looking into. Here's a source for some information: www.portlandonline.com
