Be smart! Plan your space use ahead of time!

When you're planning your cabin be sure to plan in furniture arrangements. It's one thing to abstractly think a certain sized space will be large enough for a family gathering area. However, when you consider how you want to furnish the space, the traffic flow and window placements, will the size and shape of the room still work?

If you have an idea of how furniture will fit in the room and how traffic flow and window placement will affect the use of the space before you begin to build, you can save yourself many headaches. It's much harder to make an existing space work for you than to plan a space that will work for you.

    Action steps:

    1. Think about how each room will be used.
    2. Decide what furniture you will likely want in each room.
    3. Look at the likely traffic flow thorough the room in relationship to the furniture.
    4. Consider window placement and the affect on the use of the room.
    5. Assess what size the room really needs to be based on planned use, planned furnishings, traffic flow and window placement.
